Below The Spillway

We have obtained a new collection of photographs showing the construction phase of the Barnett Reservoir.  Many thanks to PRVWSD folks for allowing us to share this priceless collection with you.  The photo's will appear from time to time so stay tuned.

Yesterday's photo showed a view of the spillway in April 1962, today's shot pre-dates that and shows the downstream side of the spillway.

Anyone who has been below the spillway has probably wondered what the bottom of the channel looks like.   Some may have heard the legend of divers exploring the extreme depths of the channel and seeing catfish large enough to swallow a man.

As this photo shows, the bottom is a pretty boring, rock covered surface.  As for the catfish....well don't believe that one either.
