Flowood Park Opening Soon

The renovation of Flowood's Winner's Circle Park is nearing completion.  City Parks Director, Greg Wilcox, said the 7 month long renovation should be completed over the next few weeks.

Three covered playground areas have been constructed, each designed for a particular age group.  Children 2 and under, 2 to 5 and 5 to 12 years of age will be able to play on equipment designed specifically for their enjoyment and safety.  Some equipment is handicapped accessible.

Four covered pavilions have been added to the park.

Pavilions can be rented for a nominal fee by calling the park office at 601-992-4440.

Three new tennis courts were added bringing the total to 5 hard surface courts. Initially courts will be available on a first come first serve basis for 90 minute segments.

A one half mile walking track surrounds the new park.

Hours of operation will be 6am to 10:30pm.

The park will have onsite security from 5pm till 10:30pm weekdays and all day on weekends.

There will be a few rules:

  • This is an alcohol and tobacco free park
  • Glass containers are prohibited
  • For the safety of others bicycles, skate boards, roller blades and pets are prohibited.

Many thanks to Flowood for providing such a nice facility to the community.

This is really exciting. Kids love this park! It will be even better now. Kinda wish they would let roller blades, but the sidewalks on Flowood road should suffice.

Now, if we could get Flowood to annex all the neighborhoods to Spillway!

What do we need to do to get Flowood to install a dog park somewhere??? I cannot believe that there is a really nice dog park in Petal MS and there is not one to be found in the metro area. Flowood or Brandon-Rez needs to be the first.

Why would anyone want to be annexed into Flowood? I like Flowood, it is a great town, but why should I WANT to pay the extra taxes? What benefit do i get? I already have Flowood water and RSO coverage for law enforcement. What other benefit is there that I am missing?

I wish pets on a leash were permitted.

I am very excited about the park reopening. I am also happy that it has been divided into age groups, which was very much needed!

Flowood has very nice soccer and baseball fields, but I do wish they would look at improving the parking. It is very tight and hard to see the small children in two way traffic with cars parked on both sides.

We have a great community of dog lovers. What can we do to get a dog park

Great news!
Pets on a leash should be considered with doggie poo bag stations in place.
Paying for a pavilion is silly.
And wondering why they took the basketball court down and haven't replaced it.

The old Rapids on the Rez grounds would be a good place for a dog park. Might as well do something with it...
