A refresher on the 3 ballot initiatives.

Statewide Initiative Measure No. 26
Should the term 'person' be defined to include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the equivalent thereof?
The Legislative Budget Office has concluded there is no determinable cost or revenue impact associated with this initiative.

Statewide Initiative Measure No. 27
Should the Mississippi Constitution be amended to require a person to submit government issued photo identification in order to vote?
The Legislative Budget Office has determined that based on Fiscal Year 2010 information, the Department of Public Safety issued 107,094 photo IDs to U.S. citizens of voting age. The individuals were assessed $14 per ID to offset a portion of the $17.92 cost per ID. The cost is estimated to remain the same, but the assessment will no longer be allowable under the provision of Initiative 27. Therefore, the Department of Public Safety is estimated to see a loss of revenue of approximately $1,499,000.

Statewide Initiative Measure No. 31
Should government be prohibited from taking private property by eminent domain and then transferring it to other persons?
The Legislative Budget Office has concluded there is no determinable cost or revenue impact associated with this initiative.
