Request From Rankin S. O.

Just in from the Rankin County Sheriffs Office

Please be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle listed below. The child is in critical condition and Richland PD along with everyone in Rankin County would like to locate the suspect and vehicle in this hit and run case. Any tips should be called into Richland PD at 601-932-3100.

As many of you know, this morning a Richland Upper Elementary School student was struck by a car as the child crossed the street to the waiting school bus. The driver did not stop. The Rankin County School District is working closely with the Richland Police Department, the Rankin County Sheriff's Department and District Attorney Michael Guest as they search for the driver of this vehicle.

This morning at approximately 6:30 a 10 year old child was struck by a car as the child crossed the street to get onto a school bus. The suspect vehicle was headed west on Cleary Road. The vehicle is white or gray in color with damage to the front of the vehicle and possible damage to the front windshield.
