Ridgeland Christmas Parade - 2011

2011 Ridgeland Christmas Parade

“A Star Spangled Christmas”

The Ridgeland Recreation and Parks Department and the Ridgeland Beautification Committee are proud to present the 2011 Ridgeland Christmas Parade. This year’s theme is “A Star Spangled Christmas.”

This year, the Ridgeland Recreation & Parks Department 10+ year sponsors will serve as the Grand Marshals. They are making a difference in our community and share the City’s vision for the future. So please join us as we honor M&F Bank, The Orchard, Madison County Journal, BankPlus, WLBT and Waggoner Engineering.

The parade will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.

The route will begin at the Holmes Community College Campus in Ridgeland. The parade will begin eastbound on Ridgeland Avenue, turn southbound on Maple Street, then turn westbound on Jackson Street, then northbound on Sunnybrook Road and finish back at Holmes Community College. West Jackson Street will be closed from Sunnybrook Road to Maple Street during the parade.

I remember when a Christmas parade was more like at Christmas time. Not so early as if Ridgeland is saying "let's do ours early and get it over with". And the route they now use makes it hard. No where to park. People park their cars in other people's yards. Then the homeowner's are upset about cars on the grass, rightfully so.

Why do some people always have to be negative ?

We need to ask the expert on negative KaptKangaroo that question.

@ 8: 11

I'm with you.
( To a certain extent )

However we have to understand,
it's a different world for children in 2011.

A Christmas Parade this early is not
what I would prefer either.....

Let everyone enjoy the spirit of Christmas as early as they wish.

My gripe is that the "spirit" of Christmas is not celebrated year round.

I like the carnival off off Spillway.
