Missing Jet Skier Found Safe

A jet skier from Crystal Springs was reported missing Tuesday afternoon after failing to return from what was supposed to be a short ride on The Rez.  She departed from Pelahatchie Shore Park after telling her family she was going for a quick tour of the main lake.

About an hour later her family became concerned and notified authorities that she was missing.

Emergency personnel from the Reservoir Patrol, Rankin County Sheriff's Department and Lake Harbor Fire Department assembled at the Pelahatchie Shore boat ramp - several rescue boats were deployed.

At around 9:00 p.m. search boats located the woman on the east side of the main lake north of the Arbor Landing development.  She had run out of gas.

Rescuers got her into a boat and transported her to a waiting ambulance at Old Fannin Landing.  She appeared shaken but unharmed.

A Mississippi Highway Patrol helicopter was called to assist in the search but the woman was located before it arrived.
