Possible Drowning At Coal Bluff (Updated)

An official at the Coal Bluff boat launch reported to TRN that the body of the drowning victim was recovered at 8:22 a. m. Saturday morning. Scott County Sheriff, Mike Lee, identified the victim as Uzziah Taylor, 18, of Lena.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to Coal Bluff Campground Friday evening after receiving reports of a possible drowning.

An official told TRN that a witness saw a male, approximately 20, swimming near a sand bar - he went under and did not surface. 

Rescue teams from The Reservoir Patrol, Scott County Sheriff's Department, Ludlow Fire Department, Scott County EOC and the Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks were participating in the search.

TRN was told the search was suspended at around 10p.m. and would resume Saturday morning.

Had to of been something else to this. He was an excellent swimmer and had saved another person against the same current that alledgedly killed him. R.I.P. zi. You will be loved and missed forever sweet boy.
