RCSD Scholarship Winners

The Foundation For Rankin
 County Public Schools
Announces Scholarship Winners

The Foundation for Rankin County Public Schools recently announced its fourth annual scholarship winners. Since the inception of the Foundation it has granted $36,000 to students all across the District. The scholarship program awards a $1,000 scholarship to a senior from each of the high schools. This year nine scholarships were awarded.

The students selected had to have a 3.0 GPA or higher, must have been involved in one or more high school sponsored activities and/or work a part-time or full-time job while attending high school. Each student also had to submit a transcript with their ACT or SAT score, include a resume and have a typed 500 word essay describing their dreams for the future, and what they need to accomplish to consider their life successful.

“These students have excelled through out high school. We are so proud of each of them, and we wish them the best with their future plans,” said RCSD Superintendent Dr. Lynn Weathersby.
