Reading Fair Winners

Brandon, MS – Students from all across the Rankin County School District participated in the Regional Reading Fair. Students illustrated a book they read and submitted it for competition. The Districts winners are:

  • Kindergarten Individual – Gianna Adams of Flowood Elementary for “Snowy Days”
  • First Grade Individual – James Park of Northshore Elementary for “Joseph Had a Little Overcoat”
  • Second Grade Individual – Murphy Lemon of Northwest Rankin Elementary for “The Story of Ferdinand”
  • Third Grade Individual – Kate Sturgeon of Richland Upper Elementary for “Mr. Poppers’ Pinguins”
  • Fourth-Fifth Grades Individual – Gracie Hawthorne of Richland Upper Elementary for “Granny Torrelli Makes Soup”
  • Sixth-Eighth Grades Individual – Will Priest of Puckett Attendance Center for “Treasure Island”
  • Ninth-Twelfth Grades Individual – Lauren Anderson of Puckett Attendance Center for “The Kite Runner”
  • Fourth-Eighth Grades Individual (Non-fiction) – Joseph Park of Northshore Elementary for “What’s So Bad about Gasoline?”
  • Grades K-3 Group – Mrs. Holly Moore’s 1st Grade Class of Northshore Elementary for “Goldilicious”
  • Grades 4 – 8 Group – Heather Frazier & Maggie Lampton of Northshore Elementary for “Hoot”
  • Grades 9-12 Group – Cady Jones, Morgan Littich (LIT-ISH) & Tatum Lott of Puckett Attendance Center for “The Postcard Killers”
  • Grades K-3 Family – Brady Williams of Puckett Attendance Center for “Phineas and Ferb: Speed Demons”
  • Grades 4-8 Family – Will Christian of Northshore Elementary for “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”
