Recycling Awareness Day At The Capitol

The Mississippi Recycling Coalition (MRC) and the Southeast Recycling Development Council (SERDC) are announcing the first annual Mississippi Recycling Awareness Day at the Mississippi State Capitol on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The event will include a networking breakfast with State Legislators and other elected officials in the Rotunda area of the Capitol Building.

The event is being held to promote to the state's elected officials the positive impacts that the recycling industry is having on Mississippi's economy and environment.

In addition, representatives of the Mississippi Recycling Coalition and the Southeast Recycling Development Council will be available to provide remarks on the economic and jobs benefits of a strong recycling industry with the State's media outlets.

The Mississippi Recycling Coalition is a consortium of recycling businesses, manufacturers, local governments, state and federal agencies, non-profit groups and other interested organizations that promotes and encourages the growth of recycling in Mississippi. The Southeast Recycling Development Council is an organization spanning eleven southeastern states formed to unite industry, government and non-government organizations to promote sustainable recycling in the Southeast. SERDC is assisting with similar Legislative events in Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.
