Gov. Phil Bryant’s Inaugural 5k Run 
for Health Set for June 30 
in Jackson, Miss.

Proceeds to Benefit Blair E. Batson
Hospital for Children

JACKSON—Gov. Phil Bryant will kick off the inaugural “Gov. Phil Bryant’s 5k Run for Health” this Saturday, June 30. Approximately 800 people have registered to run, and proceeds will be donated to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.

Day-of race registration continues Saturday morning at Mississippi Republican Party headquarters, and race festivities kick-off at 7:15 a.m. on Capitol St. directly in front of the Governor’s Mansion. The official pre-race program begins around 7:40 a.m. A Kids Mile run follows the 5k.

During the official pre-race program, Gov. Bryant will speak and will present a donation check to Guy Giesecke, CEO Blair E. Batson. Biggest Loser winner Patrick House will give the race welcome and lead the post-race awards ceremony.

Schedule of Events:

7:15 a.m.: Band begins to play
7:40 a.m.: Pledge of Allegiance, lead by Mississippi National Guard
7:43 a.m.: Invocation, lead by Mississippi Highway Patrol Chaplain
7:45 a.m.: Patrick House gives welcome remarks and introduces Gov. Phil Bryant
7:50 a.m.: Gov. Phil Bryant speaks and presents donation check to Guy Giescke, CEO of Blair E. Batson.

8 a.m.: Race begins at intersection of Capitol St. and West St. Ends at same intersection.
9:30 a.m.: Kids Mile Run begins at intersection of Capitol St. and West St. Ends at same intersection.
9:50 a.m.: Patrick House leads awards presentations, 300 East Capitol St.
