Maintenance On I-20


Upcoming Road Work on I-20 in Rankin County

JACKSON, MISS., Monday, June 25, 2012--- The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to inform the public of the upcoming road work to be performed on I-20 in Rankin County.

On Monday, June 25, at 7 p.m., MDOT crews will temporarily close the Crossgates on-ramp (Exit 54) to I-20 westbound and the right lane of I-20 westbound to Airport Road (Exit 52). This closure will allow crews to pave the right lane and shoulder of I-20 westbound from the Crossgates exit to Airport Road. Crews will continue paving through the night until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26. Crews will then resume at 7. p.m. that evening and continue working until all paving for this section of the project is complete.

MDOT encourages motorist to use caution when traveling through the work zone.

MDOT regrets any inconveniences this closure may cause.

Well, how about that. FINALLY.... Somebody at MDOT using the 'ol noggin'. Do this kind of work overnight and QUIT JAMMING UP TRAFFIC DURING THE DAY!!!!!!
