Jacob McEwen named 
Third Congressional  District 
2012 Administrator of the Year


Brandon, MS – Jacob McEwen, principal at Northwest Rankin Middle School, has been named the Third Congressional District 2012 Administrator of the Year by the Mississippi Department of Education.

He has over 26 years of educational leadership and has been employed by Rankin County School District (RCSD) since 1997. He first started at RCSD as an assistant principal at Northwest Rankin High School.

As the principal of Northwest Rankin Middle, McEwen inspires and motivates his teachers and students to succeed. He recognizes the uniqueness of the individual student and challenges them to become lifelong learners.

“I have watched him grow and develop into an accomplished and effective leader,” said RCSD Superintendent Dr. Lynn Weathersby. “As principal of Northwest Rankin Middle he has developed partnerships between the parents and the community that encourage students to succeed.”

He and his wife Sandra are the parents of two children.
