Christmas on Ice

The highly anticipated (especially by my children) Christmas on Ice opens Saturday at the Madison Campus of Baptist Medical Center, at the corner of Highland Colony Parkway and Highway 463.  There will be an ice skating rink, a 125 foot long "ice slide", a 32 foot tall musical Christmas Tree, and a Christmas Story Trail, among other attractions.  In addition, Trustmark is sponsoring a stage for free, nightly concerts.

There is a cost of $15 per person that applies to the skating rink and ice slide only.  All other attractions are free, including the concerts.  The $15 buys you a daily pass and includes skate rental, but not ear muffs.  Check out this page for information on coupons.

Christmas on Ice is open daily (Noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday) and runs through January 6, 2013.  Apparently, the only day it will be closed is December 18, 2012.

The Clarion Ledger story (found here) on this indicates there have already been 200 birthday parties booked for the venue, along with 40 concerts.
