For those requesting more pictures around the Reservoir, I grant you the masterpiece below. Yesterday afternoon, I took my son canoeing down the Pearl River. We put in on the Rankin County side of the lower Spillway and floated to Lakeland Drive. Here is a picture of us getting out near the Associated General Contractors' office in Hinds County. We moved at an extremely healthy clip, making the trip in a bulky canoe, with little paddling, in just over 2 hours. There is no better time to make this trip. The water is moving quickly, but at no point in time did we feel unsafe. As always, the wildlife was incredible.

Glad to see more Rez Photos, but may I also suggest a little more "West Shore" Madison County coverage.
You're doing a great job maintaining the Rez News. Jim would be proud .
Thanks again !
Love the picture!!
Thank you for the kind words. I simply need to get in the habit of carrying around a camera with me at all times. My outdated cell phone won't cut it. Of course, I'd be happy to publish any reader submitted photos. Send them to usmjacksonalum@yahoo.com.
Two hours? Wow! The water must be really moving. I usually move at a pretty fast pace when the water isn't so high, in the Summer, and it takes nearly three hours!
two hours and ten minutes. Put in at 3:30 p.m., out at 5:40 p.m. Now is the time to do it.
1:28 is our best time so far... We paddled when she was @ 31.90'
