Body Recovered from Pearl River Near Spillway Dam (Update Again)

Update:  The man has been identified as Benjamin Wells of Pearl.  See link.

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District's Facebook page (which is the best updated source of information from the District), just issued this press release concerning a body recovered from the Pearl River.

Authorities state they pulled a white, 49 year-old, male Rankin County resident from the water at approximately 7:15 this morning.  No foul play is suspected.  Officials are not releasing the name until family members are alerted.  Witnesses state the man climbed up on the rocks, onto a concrete pillar, then jumped.

WAPT coverage.

WLBT coverage.

I was caught in the traffic this morning agitated that I was going to be late for work. I had no idea at the time what had just happened. Being late for work was nothing. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.

The COWARD committed suicide. Way to go Ben..leave your wife and kids with pain and suffering because you were not man enough to deal with your problems.

My prayers and best wishes to those this "man" left behind.

Re: the coward comment. I pray you never suffer the hopelessness and pain that people who do commit suicide go through. Cowards don't commit suicide.
