The Reigning State Champion Northwest Rankin Softball Team is teaming up with the Brandon Bulldogs to play two charity Breast Cancer Awareness softball games. Money raised by these two events will go to offset expenses incurred by a local resident suffering with Breast Cancer. The first game will be played March 7 at NW Rankin's home field. The second game will be played March 21 at Brandon High. There will be a silent auction and t-shirts for sale, as well as concessions, etc. I'll get the t-shirt design and order information up on thereznews.com once finalized.
Head Coach Mike Armstrong puts it succinctly: "Cancer is a tough and expensive battle." My hat is off to these girls, their coaches and parents, for doing something to better their community. Now it's up to us to go support this effort. Stay tuned for further info.
