Start the day off with a jog in the Rush to Brush 5K, organized by the University of Mississippi Dental Students. I've run in this race several times. The dental students put on a great race, and they usually have door prizes worth waiting for.
If you are a tough guy, and would rather run a longer race on the Ridgeland Trails, then show up for the Groundhog Day 8K run benefiting the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
Begin hunting now for the perfect photograph at the Mississippi Natural Science Museum. Their annual photo contest begins Saturday. The Back to Nature Photography Contest is designed to encourage Museum visitors to venture out and capture the natural beauty of the wildlife and habitats seen on the grounds of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and along the trails of Lefleur's Bluff State Park. Also, the new Rainforest Exhibit is up and running at the Museum; it's time to take your kids back out to see everything new.
Question it! Discover it! will take place at the Mississippi Children's Museum between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Kids will learn all about their heart and how it works.
