Virtual Marathon to Fund 4th of July Fireworks

I received the following email from Cindy Ford, Executive Assistant at PRVWSD, concerning the upcoming Fourth of July Celebration at the Reservoir:

I need a little help with the kick-start of our newest addition to the Independence Day Celebration at The REZ.  We have added a “virtual” marathon this year to help fund our fireworks show on June 29th .    Marathon registration begins April 1st and closes April 30th.

The marathon challenge allows people to run the 26.2 miles anywhere in the world, at their own pace – run, walk, jog, whatever…  within their own timetable – all in one day, a couple of weekends, or a little every day.   For the more avid runners, this marathon challenge can be completed while training for another event.   Registrants will receive numbered runners bibs, runners challenge log, tech fabric REZ KREWE marathon shirts (if registered before 21 April) and at completion we send out the swag bags and finisher’s medals.

The new website for the Reservoir Foundation will launch in the next few days, which will provide more information on marathon and also the Independence Day Celebration.

Please spread the word about our event...  Post on FaceBook, Twitter, post in window…  I’ll take whatever I can get.

The fireworks last year were amazing.  I can imagine they cost a pretty penny.  I'll put additional information about this as it comes in.
