Close Encounter of the Reptilian Kind

Back story:  In the Winter of 2008-09, my friend, Hays Collins and I are kayaking in the flooded Mule Jail Swamp between the Pearl and the Jackson Country Club.  The water is higher than I have seen it, so exploring over previously dry land is easy.  Wildlife, in response to the high waters, is also easy to find.  During our paddle, we unexpectedly spot a couple of alligators who entered the freezing waters from their flooded holes.  Due to the time of year and the cold waters, their behavior is quite erratic.  We spot one alligator playing around on a log on the surface.  I had my video camera ready, but the alligator submerges as I start rolling film . . . .

Sorry. I just changed a privacy setting. Hopefully that fixes it. Let me know if it doesn't.
