Reservoir Community Picnic

Mark your calendar for the 19th Annual Reservoir Community Picnic; July 14, 2013, between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Pelahatchie Shore Park picnic pavilion.  This was a great idea 19 years ago, and today it has been built to a outstanding opportunity for community togetherness. The Reservoir has changed in 19 years, and the need for community is stronger than ever. The organizers and sponsors of this event provide free food, entertainment, face painting, jumpie houses, waters slides, etc., for Reservoir residents.  Many of those taking the lead in voluntarily improving our community are involved in this matter.  This is a great way to meet them, share concerns or praise, and join the effort.  I encourage everyone to mark their calendar and attend this event.  It's a good, old fashioned neighborly get-together.

I understanding this picnic is another part of Bob Anthony's lasting legacy.  Read more about Bob in one of Jim's previous posts, here.

Wish you all could have seen all the cars at the boat dock yesterday in the subdivision where I reside. At least 30, probably to escape paying the $3.00 fee. We usually have around 3 or 4 cars(with boat trailers)parked. So, now we have weekend traffic going through our subdivisions, ruining our streets which will not get repaired. Kids watch out playing outside! Lord help us.
