Barnett Reservoir Foundation

The Barnett Reservoir Foundation (BRF)has been mentioned before on this blog.  That non-profit is the driving force behind the popular Independence Day Celebration at the Reservoir, the Reservoir Car Tags, and the up coming Smokin on the Rez BBQ Competition and Blues Festival.  I imagine the BRF Board members would tell you they are independent from the PRVWSD, though work closely with them to accomplish common goals.  The Board members for the BRF are as follows:

Buddy Medlin, President
Homer Burns, Vice President
Rayford Hudson, Secretary/Treasure
Doug Berry
Gene Delcomyn
Paul Chamblee
Jeff Roberts
Pam Reeves
Dale Sheppard
Bobby Cleveland
Kenny Windham
I encourage you to check out the BRF webpage, which you can find here.  The Facebook Page is here.  It is also on Twitter (They've been tweeting since March and only have 4 followers. Come on, readers, help them out!).  There you will find a good bit of information about an organization doing good in our community.

I will not CONTRIBUTE to or participate in any more promotional activities on the Rez if they continue to allow the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries YOUNG SKIN HEAD OFFICER HOODLUMS to harass boaters just to make their ticket quota to receive federal grants. THESE GUYS HAVE A SERIOUS SMALL MAN SYNDROME TO PUSH AROUND INNOCENT PEOPLE THAT PAY THEIR SALARIES.

Wow.

These are not "promotional" events for the Reservoir. They are for your enjoyment!

Why don't you stop attracting attention to yourself so these "skin heads" can focus on hanging minorities?

Sorry, but it is not ENJOYMENT to me to be harassed by these punks. A LITTLE respect for their elders would go a long way. I am 60 years old and these two PUNKS treated me and my family like we were criminals. By the way, the Reservoir Police are very professional and do a great job. Also, the Rankin County Sheriff Department is very professional and is doing a great. Thanks a million to ALL OF THESE PROFESSIONAL OFFICERS.

Are the wildlife officers invited to patrol the rez or is this part of their territory. Also, what training do the new wildlife officers get when they take up the badge. Is there a school or on-line course that they must pass. I would love to have that job.

Not sure I see the connection between the BRF and your unfortunate run-ins with the law.

It was not my run-in with the LAW. They chased me down at a high rate of speed as I was approaching my pier. I thought the were going to run up into my lawn and into my house. The CONNECTION is that unless the PRV or Dr. Polles can teach some respect to these young punks, that they will be running off decent families trying to enjoy the Rez. Again, the Reservoir Police are very professional and do a great job on the water. Thee PRV Police are not trying to reach a ticket quota to obtain a federal grant like the wildlife punks. Am I still pissed! You betcha! Next time I will be taking names, getting badge numbers and calling my attorney.

Just an FYI of MY observation of the Fish and Wildlife police:

They are VERY quick to attempt to find someone guilty of being drunk...
They make sure you have enough vests...

Beyond that, they don't do much. they care NOTHING for boating without nav lights or if someone is breaking no wake zones. They simply don't care, and they let you KNOW they don't care. Their attitude is subpar WAAAAAY below Rez Police.

So, for the most part, I will have to agree with the other gentleman, unfortunately.
