Water Level Update

Flow into the Rez crests today.  The PRVWSD leadership believes everything is in good shape.  Discharge from the spillway was cut back at 7 a.m. this morning.  PRVWSD plans to cut back discharge by 2,000 cfs every 12 hours through the weekend.  As a result, the Rez water level will rise.

All of this means the Pearl below the spillway will fall from here on out, and allow the backwater to drain. Even with the expected 1 to 2 inch rain fall on Sunday night and Monday morning, everything is looking manageable.

From my vantage point, it appears much planning goes into discharge levels.  There is a strategy involved that makes me thankful we have good people calling the shots on discharge levels and lake water levels.
