Fishing Camp at Paul B. Johnson State Park

The Mississippi Wildlife Federation is proud to partner with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) to host a Camp Fish events. The local one will be held July 21-24, 2014, at Paul B. Johnson State Park.

Any youth ages 11-15 are encouraged to apply.  Because of limited space, we can only accept 20 students at each camp.  To apply for a camp, youth are required to complete and submit the application and liability waivers below or print and mail to MDWFP Camp Fish 2014, Attention: Larry Bull 1505 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS 39211.  Applications will be ranked based on the quality and content of the essays to determine the 25 camp participants.  

Applications for the Paul B. Johnson State Park camp must be received by July 11, 2014. Selected participants will be notified by July 15, 2014.



Prior fishing experience is not required to attend, however, a desire to learn about fish and fishing is needed.  There is no cost to attend either camp.  Camp participants will need to be onsite by 8:00 a.m. each morning and picked up by 5:00 p.m. each day.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided each day.  Parents/guardians are responsible for daily transportation to and from each camp.  For more information about MDWFP Camp Fish 2014, contact Larry Bull at Larryb@mdwfp.state.ms.us or 601-432-2208.
