Election Results

I was at the Rankin County Courthouse until after 2 a.m. last night, waiting on the vote count. Nearly 24,000 votes cast.  In the Senate race, Cochran eked out Rankin County by about 240 votes.  Absentee voting wasn't estimated to change the vote.

 Thad Cochran 11,900 49.91%
 Chris McDaniel. 11,659 48.90%

The Constable race was no less exciting. 7,462 total votes. That is headed to a run off between Gary Windham and Charles Lindsay.

I have to honestly wonder why people vote for Charles Lindsay as he is a convicted felon who had to swear to never run for public office, but here he is, yet again, and this time for the very position he violated. It amazes me every time I see his mugshot pop up all over the media.

Hopefully, most of those who voted for Charles Lindsay didn't know about his criminal activity.  Maybe the voters will be better informed when they vote in the runoff on June 24.
