Independence Day Celebration This Weekend!

God bless America!  There is little finer than celebrating this countries virtues and traditions at the Reservoir. Below is the calendar of events for this weekend's festivities.

8:00 a.m. -- Splash and Dash 5K run at Old Trace Park in Ridgeland, put on by the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi.  "Whether it's with super soakers, a giant slip and slide, or water balloons, you are sure to get drenched".

4:00 p.m. -- Waterfest 2014 at Old Trace Park.  I can't find much online about what this event will entail in addition all the other events.

4:00 p.m. is also the start of the Cardboard and Duct Tape Boat Race and the Classic Car Cruise In, both at Lakeshore Park.  From 4 p.m. on, there will be live music, vendors, military displays, and kidzones at both Old Trace and Lakeshore Parks.

8:15 p.m. -- The Lighted Boat Parade starts at Main Harbor, winds its way along the Spillway, by Lakeshore Park, and then around to Old Trace Park.  A dueling fireworks show, from both Old Trace and Lakeshore Park will begin immediately after the Boat Parade.
