NWR Lady Cougars Tearing Up Slowpitch Softball Again This Year!

Congratulations to the NWR Lady Cougars Slowpitch Softball Team for recently clinching the No. 1 seed in the District with a 21-4 record.

The first round of the playoffs begin this afternoon at 4 p.m. against George County.  It is a best of 3 series.  The second round of the playoffs will begin Saturday, the 18th.  The South State Championship will be on October 21, and the State Championship game will be the 25th.

According to Coach Mike Armstrong, "the Lady Cougars have a very good chance of reaching some the goals they set this season.  Sometimes, when we get on a roll and hit the ball up and down the line up, I think we are as good as the 2012 team that won the 6A State Championship.  We do a good job of pitching and playing defense each game so with that, we can be successful if we are focused and ready to play."

Come out to the games tonight at the NWR Fields and support the Lady Cougars!
