Today, we begin with Daniel Cross, candidate for Rankin County Board of Supervisors, District 2 (Reservoir):
Having been a first responder in the Reservoir Area for most of my life, I have long worked for a safe and secure community. After much encouragement and support from members of the community, I now feel that the time has come for me to seek elected office. I want to be sure that the governing bodies of Rankin County have created a solid infrastructure for us to raise our families. To help us in this process, I will be running for Rankin County Supervisor for District 2.
With close to 30,000 people living in District 2 at the Reservoir, many issues such as modes of transportation, emergency response and property values must be in forefront of government discussions. And most importantly, I believe in a transparent government. I want our community involved in the events taking place in our county!
I have spent countless hours on the front lines of our community answering emergency calls and helping others in need. For the last twenty years, I have been blessed to be a part of the fire service in Mississippi. My career began at the Reservoir Fire Department in 1993, where I still serve as a part-time firefighter today. My full-time job places me at the Mississippi Fire Academy, where I train firefighters and first responders from across the state. Also for the last three years, I have served as a part-time Deputy Sheriff here in Rankin County. Public service has been my passion and life.
In order to serve the people of the Reservoir, I must conduct an aggressive campaign. It is important to me that the voters have a voice in their government and everyone gets out to vote. I have begun my voyage by creating a campaign leadership team and developing a plan to spread our message throughout the Reservoir. With such a large area, I cannot do it all alone. That’s why I am turning to the people who know me the best, and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and help me make a difference.
Your early contributions, made payable to “Daniel Cross Campaign Fund” will give our race a tremendous boost. Any monetary gift will help me raise the initial funds to launch this campaign.
If you would like to participate with the campaign (yard signs, door to door notifications, email notification etc.) please don’t hesitate to let me know. My email address is danielcross2015@gmail.com
