Judge John Shirley qualified for re-election as Rankin County Justice Court Judge for District 2. The Republican primary is August 4, 2015. Please participate in ensuring that justice prevails in Rankin County by supporting John Shirley's re-election on August 4.
John was elected in 1999 and is currently the senior Rankin County Justice Court Judge. Rankin County has the best Justice Court in Mississippi and John wants to ensure that the reputation continues. If re-elected, John will continue to make decisions based on the law and the facts and NOT based on politics.
Judicial ethics provide that a judge is NOT allowed to discuss issues in a case in which he/she is the judge unless all parties are present.

He was appointed to the Commission in 2004 and then reappointed in 2008. From 2004 - 2012, while serving on the Commission, he reviewed judicial misconduct allegations, presided over hearings, and made recommendations to the Mississippi Supreme Court that included removal of a judge from office.
Judge John Shirley is currently a Justice Court Judge, Youth Court Judge, Pearl Municipal Court Judge, Law Enforcement Instructor, and law seminar speaker. John previously served as as a special Rankin County Youth Court Judge and as a special Municipal Court Judge for Brandon, Flowood, and Richland.
