Beating Bullying

While checking out a book this afternoon at the Flowood Library, I saw a leaflet entitled "Beating Bullying" on the check-out counter.  The body of the leaflet read, in part:

"Starting in January, Central Mississippi Regional Library System, Flowood Branch, the City of Flowood, Rankin County School District (Flowood Elementary), Region 8 Mental Health Unit, and the Department of Health and Human Services are partnering together to take a stand against bullying.  Our goal is to provide a safe place for all those in K-12 grade who have been bullied (or are wishing to stand against bullying) complete with organized professionals and peer coaching.

"This program is a pilot program -- something not done in Rankin County or the City of Flowood before, and CMRLS is proud to act as the host."

The schedule is as follows, with all meetings on Tuesdays, starting at 5:30 p.m., and meeting at the Flowood Library:

Grades Pre-K through 2nd:  1/13; 2/10; 3/10; 4/07; 5/12
Grades 3rd through 6th: 1/20; 2/17; 4/14; 5/19
Grades 7th through 12th:  1/27; 2/24; 3/24; 4/28; 5/26

That's all I know.  For more information, call the fine folks at the Flowood Library at 601.919.1911.
