Lake Vista Storage Withdraws Variance Request

On January 23, 2015, the Rez News posted information on the proposed zoning variance request by Willie Gavan, Inc., for the construction of a storage facility behind Fred's Dollar Store.  An additional post followed this up with information from the Federation of Reservoir Homeowners.  We indicated the Rankin County Board of Supervisors would have a public hearing on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, where citizens concerned about the future of the Reservoir area could air their grievances.

Per District 2 Supervisor, Rodney Keith, Willie Gavan, Inc., withdrew its request for a zoning variance.  There will be no public hearing.  However, this does not end the fight for those concerned. Willie Gavan, Inc., could bring back it's request at a future date. Stay tuned.

Question - if they don't build the storage center, what else can they build there?

I wonder what the implications on the Lake Vista storage would be if the zoning variance were approved though! Isn't that why they applied for it in the first place?
