·        Crappie headed in
While some are already being caught shallow, the peak of the spring crappie spawn isn't expected for another week to 10 days, perhaps on the new moon phase. Experts are still finding the main lake's big females staging in deeper water, 5 to 12 feet, but close to the shallows. Last year, the peak was on the new moon in mid April with another big run on the early May full moon. This year, there's another full moon on May 3, so we've got four more weeks of spring fun.

Has the County's annual spring cleanup already taken place? Where you can drop large items off at dumpsters at the Northshore fire dept.?
