John McLaurin Appointed Chancery Judge

Governor Bryant appointed John McLaurin to fill Judge Dan Fairly's chancery court position.  Press release can be found here.

Governor Bryant made a good choice in appointing John McLaurin.  John is an experienced and respected member of the Rankin Bar.  He will serve the citizens of Rankin County well.  As a chancery court practitioner, it is my opinion Rankin County got precisely what it needed in Judge McLaurin.  No brainer, really.

This is the first time I've heard anyone speak kindly of McLaurin. Most say he is rude and abusive and tends to act a bully from the bench.

And the comment above is the first I've heard of anyone speaking negatively about McLaurin... guess it just depends on what circles you run in and who you listen to... :)

An embarrassing, hot mess. Just more of the same for Rankin County. Very sad. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/2015/06/01/rankin-judges-appointed-position/28314739/

I see no reason to elect any one but the Chancery Judges, they run the County!
