Petition in Opposition to Restaurant Started

I note a concerned Reservoir citizen started a petition on change.org to gather signatures in opposition to the proposed restaurant on Spillway Road (read about the restaurant here and here). The petition is called "STOP Seafood Restaurant Proposal on Spillway Road", and currently has 97 signatures. Here is the link.

I live not far from there, and I am not opposed to it, as long as it's done the right way. If they are gonna leave trees and be part of the environment let's do it. If they are gonna clear cut, pave and dump waste into the water & streams, well, we have a problem.

The online petition used a picture of the Natchez Trace in the area around Lost Rabbit for their "greenspace" image, which is super misleading. That same area using Google Maps or Bing Maps, is much more developed than it was in that image, but I guess that goes against their narrative.

On a separate note, the taco takeout place has closed in what long-time residents refer to as "the Sing station" at Grants Ferry and Spillway. Fresh food, nicely spiced. I regret its passing.

I share your sadness, Owen. I pulled up last week to La Taqueria to find it closed. Nothing like good gas station Mexican food. I can report there are no immediate plans to replace La Taqueria. Perhaps Jumbo will resurface . . . ?

Bring back Jumbo! That whole shopping center is like a hospice facility. Sad.

Ahh...fine dining examples in reservoir.

La Taqueria was hit and miss for me. Sometimes it was great. Sometimes it was so swimming in grease, I couldn't bear to eat it.

I do wish we had good Mexican here. I find "Mississippi Mexican" around here to be laden with salt and grease. I find Cinco De Mayo to be just OK and Jacos Tacos to be really good - and that's about it.

I live close to the area in question for a restaurant. I must say I'm in favor. I would love to have a good restaurant conveniently located, especially if you could go by car or boat.
