Article on Rez Restaurants (or lack thereof)

Anna Wolfe's article on Restaurants at the Rez can be found in its entirety at the Clarion Ledger's site.  Snippets of interest:

Residents on the Rankin County side of the Ross Barnett Reservoir should expect to see progress on the area’s first liquor-serving restaurant soon.
John Sigman, general manager for the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, said there are three areas of interest to potential restaurant owners.
Two of the prime sites are owned by banks — the old Rapids waterpark site and a plot on Fannin Landing Circle, between the Arbor Landing and Fannin Landing boat ramps.
But it’s the renderings for a seafood restaurant, parking lot and playground on a 4-acre plot on East Spillway Road that is getting the attention of residents. Some are for the development while others are not.

Sigman said the PRV board hasn’t even authorized the advertisement that will allow developers to submit their proposals, but if they do, the process will take 60 days.
“There will be plenty of time for any party, pro or con, to make their opinions known,” Sigman said.

I read the article and it does nothing to describe where the controversy is. Typical poorly-written CL stuff.

Where is this place?

This place is located between Eagle's Point and Highway 471 on Spillway Road, right in the middle of a beautiful, peaceful "wetlands type" area enjoyed daily by bikers, walkers, homeowners in the three subdivision that are near it. There are so many other areas at the Rez zoned commercial where a nice restaurant would be wonderful and appreciated. Why does it have to be here?
