Rankin County News Articles

The Weekly Leader/Rankin County News is full of Rez-worthy articles this week. Among them:

-- Board approves funds for BHS stadium, NWR stadium improvements.  Brandon High School will finally get an on-campus stadium, and Northwest Rankin gets new home-side bleachers and a new press box.

-- Flowood's Easter Egg Hunt set for March 26.  Self explanatory. Starts at 10 a.m. at Liberty Park.

-- Police apprehend auto burglary suspect within three minutes.  It's not rocket science, folks. If you are so depraved of heart that you would commit a crime, Flowood is not the place you want to practice your trade.  Even something as benign as breaking into unoccupied cars at 2 a.m.  You will get caught, and it will only take three minutes to do so.

--  Barnett Reservoir boat show set March 26-27.  You can see earlier posts for more info on this.

-- Time running out to vote absentee in March 8 primaries.  Presidential and Congressional election Tuesday, March 8.

The last school bond failed because of athletic fluff. So now we are getting the fluff with none of the academics.

Great... The kids can barely squeeze down the halls and are smashing into overcrowded classrooms at NWR. Glad to know they can be comfortable during the football games. Shaking my head... We really have it backwards around here.
