More Info on the Zoning Ordinance

A couple of days ago, I linked to Rankin County's proposed Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance, informing the reader that I know of no specifics.  Luckily, Charles Bailey, journalist with the Rankin County News, does.  Check out this week's Weekly Leader/Rankin County News for more details, including:

-- The public hearing is March 6, at 9 a.m. at the Courthouse Annex Building at 211 East Government Street.
-- "The most significant proposed change to the county's Zoning Ordinance would set minimum home sizes in 10 recreational zones."
-- Pearl remains Rankin County's largest city, with 25,092 souls; Brandon has 21,705.
-- In the next three years, 23,000 more folks are expected to move into Rankin County.
