DivorceCare at St. Mark's UMC

From St. Mark's UMC:

St. Mark's United Methodist Church at 400 Grants Ferry Road in Brandon is offering two classes to the community coming up soon. DivorceCare is a 13-week class offering hope to those dealing with the pain of separation and divorce. Each week, participants will watch a video dealing with topics such as anger, depression, forgiveness, and loneliness; then divide up into small groups for discussion. DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) is a special group to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation and divorce of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids ages 5-12 make friends with other kids who understand what it feels like when parents get divorced.

There will be a special orientation meeting for DC4K on Sun 8/13 from 4:00-6:00, and then DivorceCare and DC4K will start on Sunday 8/20 from 4:00-6:00. There is a one-time fee of $20 for each group (partial scholarships are available). For more information about DivorceCare, contact Merriam Smilley at 601-452-0861 or merriamsmilley2201@comcast.net. For more information about DC4K, contact Betsy Schetter at Betsy.Schetter@millsaps.edu.
