Home Invasion and Armed Robbery in Reservoir East

Below is the Sheriff's press release about this morning's home invasion/armed robbery in Reservoir East.

Monday September 25, 2017 around 3:30 a.m. the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call from a Reservoir East homeowner reporting, he and his two roommates were the victims of a home invasion.
The residence is occupied by two nineteen-year-old males and a twenty-year-old male. The three men have lived in the residence for three months. They advised investigators, one of the owner’s car alarm was activated and the owner looked outside but did not see anyone. Moments later, the owners were all awakened by at least three black and one white masked men and forced at gunpoint to the living room.
The violators then went room by room collecting various items before locking the three in a bedroom closet. After waiting several minutes, the victims left the residence and fled to a neighbor’s residence where they called 911.
This type of crime is not common in Rankin County. Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the same residence the previous night for a large party. One of today’s victims estimated there were nearly fifty individuals at the party. He went on to say there were several attendees they did not know. Investigators are confident the three were targeted and most likely by someone who attended the party and was able to roam about the residence locating items they planned to return and steal.
