Boil Water Notice Lifted

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District has LIFTED the Boil Water Notice that was issued Tuesday the 29th, for customers in twelve subdivisions in the south Madison County Water System at the Ross Barnett Reservoir. Those twelve subdivisions included The Breakers, Copper Ridge, Main Harbor Marina, North Harbor Condos, Harbortowne, Mallard Point, Tavern Hills, Marina at Roses
Bluff, Roses Bluff, Summers Bay, Point Clear Condos, and Overlook Point.

Roadwork Continues on Bob Anthony Parkway

Bob Anthony Parkway Resurfacing Project

The patching phase of overlay project for the upper road of Bob Anthony Parkway, also known as Spillway Road west bound across the Barnett Reservoir Dam, has been completed. The milling and overlay portion of the project is scheduled to begin the first week of June 2018.

This overlay phase of the project is expected to last approximately four weeks, weather permitting. The project is made possible by federal transportation grants administered through the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.

While lane closures will be necessary each weekday, no closures will take place during the morning commute hours of 7 to 9 a.m.

Drivers should plan ahead, expect delays, and remain vigilant. Please slow down, and respect the workers in the area.

Sunset Concert Series Tomorrow Night

From the Barnett Reservoir Foundation website:
The last Thursday night each month brings the Sunset Concert Series at Lakeshore Park.   May 31st features the music of  Joseph LaSalla.
The gates open at 5:00pm, music begins at 6 and continues until the sun sets on the reservoir.  $5 entry per car load, or free if the car has “The REZ” tag.   Food, beverage and beer vendors on site.  Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the music in the park.   Kids and pets always welcome.


Boil Water Notice on Madison County Side of Rez

Boil Water Notice issued for
Madison County Water System at
Barnett Reservoir

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District on Tuesday, 29 May, issued an immediate Boil Water Notice affecting customers in twelve subdivisions in the south Madison County Water System at the Ross Barnett Reservoir.

Impacted subdivisions include: The Breakers, Copper Ridge, Main Harbor Marina, North Harbor Condos, Harbortowne, Mallard Point, Tavern Hills, Marina at Roses Bluff, Roses Bluff, Summers Bay, Point Clear Condos, and Overlook Point.

The notice was issued due to a loss of water or water pressure from a break and subsequent repair of an 8-inch main water line. Upon completion of repair, PRVWSD will begin sampling the water.
This boil water notice will be in effect for at least 48 hours, or until PRVWSD officials receive two consecutive days of clear sampling.

The Mississippi State Department of Health has been notified of the situation.

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for a Great Cause

First Baptist Church of Fannin is having an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on June 16, 2018.  Tickets are $10 a piece.  You can purchase a ticket from any member of the youth at FBC Fannin.  Hopefully, they will also sell tickets at the door!

Memorial Day Program in Brandon

On Monday, May 28, 2018, there will be a Memorial Day Program in the City of Brandon at the Justice Center on Government Street.  The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome by David Morrow, Jr., master of ceremonies.  The program will include remarks from Congressman Harper, a recitation of the history of Memorial Day, and an awards ceremony for essays written by high school students.  The guest speaker will be David Walker, MD, of the Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital and Colonel Rodney Harris of the U.S. Army.  

All are encouraged to join and pay respects to our fallen heroes.

Garage Sales This Weekend!

There are a bunch of them.  

St. Mark's annual garage sale benefiting the youth begins this Friday at 6 p.m.  For $5, you can get in Friday evening and buy all the good stuff.  I got a beautiful drafting table one year.  There is usually some good finds.  Saturday, the sale begins at 7 a.m., and ends at noon.

Hidden Hills Subdivision is having their garage sale this Saturday.

Mill Creek Subdivision is having their garage sale Saturday morning, too.
