- 23.37% of registered voters cast a ballot. That's normal for a non-presidential election.
- About 2,746 folks voted for the Democratic ticket; about 17,151 voted for a Republican candidate. So, Democrats constitute about 14% of the voting population.
- Democrat voters don't like the establishment candidate. Three years ago, they made a truck driver who didn't even vote for himself their nominee for Governor. Yesterday, their establishment's choice (Baria) barely eked out 36% of the vote.
- Michael Guest walloped the competition in Rankin County, with 74% of the vote in a six person race. That almost carried him to victory without a run-off.
